Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first single was released for the label on Oct. 21 of 2016, entitled Pho, and she started to gain recognition. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her debut songs online in the year 2012. She released the single Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she dropped additional music on the internet including Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out on 21 July 2015. In the following year, her music circulated around the Dreamville team because J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna. She officially was signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. On the album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. Then, in October 2016 she debuted her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance for J. Cole on his track Change in 2017 and also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she appeared as a guest artist on two tracks with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video then released in September. In November, she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. And on the 13th of November she dropped two more singles called No One and Pdigree. Later, she was featured as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track called Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on February 26, 2019, to accompany her debut album with the same name. In February of 2019 the music video was released for the song. It already has 3 million hits on YouTube in its first week. In December 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
